Everybody! 11/03/03 New York Post   November 3, 2003 -- The New York Post today reported a major boost in circulation for its daily paper of 10.6 percent, for the six months ended Sept. 30. It was the sixth consecutive six-month period in which daily circulation growth topped 10 percent, continuing The Post's run of double-digit growth. The Post's daily circulation now stands at 652,426 as filed with the Audit Bureau of Circulations, subject to audit. The majority of The Post's increase is once again in the New York market, with 52,269 of the 62,365 copies coming from within the metropolitan area. "Normally, newspapers strive not to be predictable," said Lachlan Murdoch, chairman and publisher. "That said, The Post's consistent growth has become just that. Our sixth consecutive double-digit circulation increase is a testament to the impact of our paper, its quality and our terrific staff." "In the last six months, the New York Post has broadened its brand with new, exciting and innovative content," said Col Allan, editor-in-chief. "The Yankees Century, our special 10-part glossy magazine series celebrating the team's 100th anniversary, was a terrific success. Our color real estate section, NYP Home, already has developed a steady following. And we've just launched a new monthly news and entertainment feature called NYP Tempo." In addition to the paper's circulation gains, the Neilsen rankings for September 2003 report 2,337,000 unique users for The Post Web site, NYPOST.COM. This is an increase from August 2003 of 6.6 percent, or 145,000 unique users, and makes NYPOST.COM the country's fifth-largest newspaper Web site.
